This from the Tampa Bay Times <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/blogs\/gradebook\/florida-math-end-of-course-exam-results-wont-count-state-says\/2230144\" target=\"_blank\">Gradebook blog<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/resources\/documents\/2015\/05\/HB_7069_TA_Memo_5-18-15.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">In a memo to superintendents<\/a>, Lyons wrote that the state will not have completed its independent validity study of the exams before grades are issued. Therefore, this year only the scores won&#8217;t count in course grades, despite state law, he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;School districts should calculate final course grades and make promotion decisions without regard to the 30 percent requirement that typically applies,&#8221; Lyons wrote. &#8220;The absence of EOC results alone in these courses should not result in a grade of incomplete.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 30 percent requirement still applies to biology, civics and U.S. history state tests.
